Dutchman Tim Kliphuis is fast gaining a reputation as one of the most imaginative, exciting and entertaining violinists on the acoustic scene. He combines Gypsy, Classical, Folk, Tango, World music and Grappelli jazz to create an inspired and daring fusion with soulful melodies, driving rhythms and funky chords.

As a young musician Kliphuis (pronounced Clip House) cut his teeth in the fiery Manouche bands playing Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli - but nowadays he is likelier to be heard duelling with Richard Galliano, Frankie Gavin or Charlie McKerron. Tim’s CDs are played on the BBC and Classic FM. He has recently written the definitive book (published by Mel Bay) on Gypsy swing style violin.
