The Buccleuch Centre and COVID-19

In response to the latest UK and Scottish Government advice about the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19, the Buccleuch Centre in Langholm is postponing all shows from today (Wednesday 18th March) until 30th May 2020. The situation will be revised after this date.

We understand that this news will cause disruption and disappointment, however the safety and wellbeing of audiences, staff, volunteers and the community remains our primary concern.

We hope to be able to reschedule shows that were due to take place between now and 30th May, and we’ll be getting in touch with our customers to offer tickets to rescheduled shows or a voucher or refund. However, the impact of COVID-19 is a critical threat to the Buccleuch Centre’s future and we need your support. Please consider making a donation and/or donating your ticket in lieu of a refund, if you feel you can afford to. Otherwise, all ticket holders to cancelled shows will receive exchanges, vouchers or full refunds.

We will be in contact with customers as soon as possible to provide alternative arrangements. We appreciate that customers may have questions about their booking, but we would ask you please not to contact the Box Office direct whilst we work to re-schedule performances where possible and process refunds.

We’ll let you know as soon as we have more information. Please keep an eye on our website and social media for updates. Thank you to all our audiences and the local community for your continued support, and In the meantime, please take care of yourself, your friends and family.

Join us from your lockdown sofa as we enjoy a VE Day 75th Anniversary concert starring Katherine Jenkins celebrating the music of World War II and the forces sweetheart Dame Vera Lynn.

The 30-minute performance will be streamed for free on YouTube and is the first in the Royal Albert Home series to come from the hall itself. Katherine will sing wartime favourites including The White Cliffs of Dover and We’ll Meet Again, the latter as a virtual duet with Dame Vera Lynn. The lyrics “I know we’ll meet again some sunny day” will no doubt ring true for families around the world who are separated from loved ones at this time.

Just click on this link to be whisked off to the Albert Hall on Friday 8th May at 6pm
