“The Deadwood Stage”, “Windy City” and “My Secret Love” are three of the hits from this firm favourite of a show, which along with the haunting “Black Hills of Dakota” make “Calamity Jane” one of the most well-known musicals of all time.

The 1953 film starring the great Doris Day and Howard Keel brought it to the attention of everyone and its popularity never diminishes.

LAODS chose this show before the sad death of Doris Day in May 2019, at the age of 97, but it is very fitting that our local group should mount a production of what could be argued was her greatest success.

This is the third time LAODS has performed “Calamity Jane” and all involved are determined  to make it the best one yet!
