In 1987, after weeks of storms, avalanches and illness, four Britons admit defeat 24,000ft up Broad Peak 26,400ft 8047m, Pakistan. One never climbs again. Another becomes first double leg amputee summiting 8000m peak on Cho Oyu 8201m, 1995. Others reflect that if efforts on Broad Peak were expended on ‘super-alpine’ mountains up to 20,000ft, multiple summits would be achievable as well as more fun. They put this to test 29 years later, with ascent of nine Andean peaks: three of 10-12,000ft (with dogs!); three of 13-14,000ft; one of 17,594ft; finishing with glorious traverse two peaks Pico 19,113ft and Cerro Plata 19,555ft. This audio-visual show takes you with them…
