The Buccleuch Centre and COVID-19

In response to the latest UK and Scottish Government advice about the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19, the Buccleuch Centre in Langholm is postponing all shows until the end of 2020. The situation will be reviewed after this date.

We understand that this news will cause disruption and disappointment, however the safety and wellbeing of audiences, staff, volunteers and the community remains our primary concern.

We hope to be able to reschedule shows that were due to take place between now the end of the year (2020), and we’ll be getting in touch with our customers to offer tickets to rescheduled shows, a voucher or refund. However, the impact of COVID-19 is a critical threat to the Buccleuch Centre’s future and we need your support. Please consider making a donation and/or donating your ticket in lieu of a refund, if you feel you can afford to. Otherwise, all ticket holders to cancelled shows will receive exchanges, vouchers or full refunds.

Our staff are currently furloughed and will be in contact with customers on their return to work.

We appreciate that customers may have questions about their booking, but we would ask you please not to contact the Box Office direct whilst we work to re-schedule performances where possible.

We’ll let you know as soon as we return and have more information. Please keep an eye on our website and social media for updates. Thank you to all our audiences and the local community for your continued support, and In the meantime, please take care of yourself, your friends and family.

Cathy Marston has previously been an Associate Artist of the Royal Opera House and Director of Bern Ballett, and is much in demand nternationally. The inspiration for her first work for The Royal Ballet Main Stage is the momentous life and career of the cellist Jacqueline du Pré. Jerome Robbins’s elegant and elegiac classic forms the second part of the programme. This exercise in pure dance for five couples, set to music by Chopin, is a masterpiece of subtlety and invention.
